2. Information We Collect Through our enrollment and interest forms, we collect:
Personal Identification: Names, birthdates, gender, and school affiliation.
Contact Information: Parent/Guardian names, phone numbers, and email addresses.
Academic Data: Current grade level and GPA to support our "Student First" mission.
Sensitive Health Data: Medical insurance providers, policy numbers, medical conditions, and emergency contact details to ensure athlete safety on the mat.
Website Analytics: We use Google Analytics to track anonymous visitor behavior to improve our community outreach. This does not collect the personal data you submit in our forms.
3. How We Use Your Information We use this data exclusively to:
Manage program rosters and verify USA Wrestling memberships.
Ensure coaches are aware of medical needs during practices and events.
Coordinate emergency response if required.
Program Promotion: Utilize athlete likenesses to celebrate success and secure non-profit scholarship funding (see Section 6).
4. Data Security and Confidentiality
Confidentiality: Academic and medical records are restricted to authorized board members and coaching staff on a "need-to-know" basis.
No Sale of Data: We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Third-Party Sharing: Data is shared with USA Wrestling (for insurance) or medical professionals in an emergency.
5. Media, Social Media, and Press To celebrate athlete achievement and sustain our scholarship fund, LBWI utilizes public visibility. By agreeing to our Media Release during registration, you acknowledge:
Official Channels: Athlete photos/videos may be featured on our website and official social media (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn).
Editorial Press: LBWI cooperates with accredited local news organizations to document youth sports success. These include, but are not limited to: The562.org, The Long Beach Post, and the Press-Telegram.
6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA) & Sensitive Requests We only collect information about minors with explicit parental consent.
Sensitive Opt-Outs: If there are sensitive legal or safety reasons (e.g., foster care or custody disputes) why your child's image cannot be shared, please contact us at info@lbhammerheads.org prior to participation.

LB Hammerheads Wrestling is a premier youth program of the Long Beach Wrestling Initiative, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our board is 100% volunteer-based, ensuring all resources—including scholarships for mandatory USA Wrestling memberships and gear—go directly to our athletes. LBWI is an independent organization and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or an agent of the Long Beach Unified School District or LB Poly Athletics; our programs are open to all student-athletes regardless of school enrollment.
